This summer, Burger King is introducing a new item to their menu. It is a combination of three popular to many Americans: mac and cheese, mozzarella sticks, and Cheetos. The initial trial will last only eight weeks, but with early positive reviews, it may be extended to the autumn, or it may return on a permanent basis.
monarch president of North America at Burger King stated in an interview with Bloomberg:
“We’re partnering up with one of Americans’ favorite brands. It’s quite unique….
We’re working on a few other menu items. There’s room for us to do more together in the future.”
The Mac ‘n Cheetos are deep-fried sticks of macaroni and cheese coated in Cheetos breading. An order of five sticks costs $2.49, and is listed at 310 calories. The latest snack hybrid stems from a partnership with PepsiCo Inc.’s Frito-Lay, which owns Cheetos and other beloved chips. Interesting because Burger King restaurants sell Coca-Cola beverages, and Macedo has also stated there are no plans to migrate over to Pepsi colas.
First they gave us frankfurters. Next they us this frankenfood. What do you think is the next gastronomic abomination on the Burger King menu?
