The Top Ten Movie Posters

Before the advent of the trailer, the only way movie goers got to learn what films were coming soon were from movie posters. Incidently, it was also the only way movie goers were deceived. To paraphrase Queensryche’s Operation:Mindcrime, “Don’t ever trust a trailer, it lies.”

But back then, movie posters were works of art Art. That’s right – “Art” with a capital “A”. And like the modern two-and-half minute trailer, sometimes, the poster was better than the movie itself. The iconic images outside the theatre became more ingrained in our brains than the moving pictures inside the building.
