The Top Ten favorite Muppets

If there is one Generation X can hang its hat on, it is that we got to grow up watching first-run episodes of The Muppet Show, and Sesame Street during its Golden Age (when Mr Hooper was alive, Snuffleupagus was imaginary, and Elmo was non-existent.) Jim Henson was a genius. He was one of the greatest entertainers the world has ever known. He brought us so many great characters, that a set of 10 seems so small.

These lists are not just limited to just Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. We are including everything Henson and/or his workshop created or consulted*. So everything from Delbert, The La Choy Dragon, to Lenny, from the Lending Tree commercials, were considered. And while I personally believe that The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth are underrated gems, even I could not squeeze them into my top ten.

If there is a bright side of Disney buying the Muppets, it is we can easily prove how Muppet Christmas Carol > Mickey’s Christmas Carol.

Without further adieu, here is our lists:
